Product Description
Due to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) restrictions, we can no longer sell the insecticidal stain and finish additive CPF-2D. The EPA has banned the use of Diazinon based insecticides and CPF-2D was 87% Diazinon. For years Diazinon was registered by the EPA and was the nation's #2 selling insecticide on the market. (The #1 selling insecticide was Dursban which has been banned by the EPA as well.)
Both Diazinon and Dursban are organophosphates that were developed during the 1940’s. According to the EPA, Diazinon has been on the market since 1948 serving as a pesticide for both home and agricultural use.
We have replaced CPF-2D with a new product called Bug Juice. This insecticidal paint additive is EPA registered and has been approved for both interior and exterior use.
What is Bug Juice?
Bug Juice is a remarkable insecticide paint additive designed to eliminate crawling & flying insects on interior & exterior surfaces.
Where can Bug Juice be applied?
Bug Juice can be applied on most interior and exterior surfaces, including kitchens and pantries.
Does Bug Juice repel bugs?
Bug Juice does not repel insects, it is a contact pesticide. It begins to work after an insect makes contact with the treated surface.
What kind of bugs does it kill?
Bug Juice kills crawling and flying insects ranging from ants to mosquitoes and cockroaches to silverfish.
Will it affect the appearance of the finish?
Bug Juice will not effect the color or drying time of the coating it is mixed with.
What maintenance is involved?
It is recommend that you hose off the treated surface with water twice a year. This provides a clean surface for insects to land on.
Does Bug Juice have an odor?
No
How long does the Bug Juice last?
Bug Juice will last for the life of the coating it is mixed with.
What type of coating can Bug Juice be mixed with?
Bug Juice can be added to any oil or latex-based paint, stain, or sealant.
Notes:
The finish that Bug Juice is added to needs to be used within 3 hours if it is added to a latex-based (water-based) coating or 6 hours if it is added to an oil-based coating. Otherwise the insecticide in the coating will die. Bug Juice is an EPA registered product.
