Recoating with Men-Wood™ |

The requirements for RE-COATING are similar to when you first applied Men-Wood™ on your substrate. Surface must be clean, dry and free of all dirt, wax, grease, soot, loose or peeling stains, paint, mold and/or mildew. Mold and mildew must be killed with a bleach, TSP, water solution.

Procedures Required - Including Surface Preparation
(Applying Men-Wood™ over Men-Wood™)

Clean the surface with our product called MOLD BLASTER. A professional
cleaner designed to help sealers and stains maintain their beauty. --
DO NOT USE ULTRA-KLEEN or any other industrial cleaning agents, it will
remove the existing coating which is not necessary. You can use a soft
brush and garden hose, or a pressure washer with a maximum of 500psi.
NOTE: High pressure will remove existing coating. Be sure to apply all
cleaners from the bottom up.
If mold, mildew, fungus or algae are on the surface use ULTRA-KLEEN
and/or Ultra-Brite to remove. (*You should use a bleach solution to kill
the spores in your wood.) NOTE: Do the bleach solution first when cleaning
then immediately follow with Ultra-Kleen and/or Ultra-Brite. These steps
will remove the existing finish. *Recommend Mixture for Bleach Solution:
4 gal warm water, 1 gal pool chlorine, 3 cups TSP
Warning: Do not leave any of these solutions on the surface for longer
than 15 minutes (do not allow to dry on the surface); if bleach cleaning
solutions are used; although it is a very effective cleaning compound;
if it is not completely washed off, residues can act as a growth promoter
for molds and mildews and can prevent Men-Wood™ from penetration. You
must use Ultra-Kleen and/or Ultra-Brite after using a bleach solution.
Be sure to apply all cleaners from the bottom up.
Now that you have thoroughly cleaned the surface, you need to wait a
minimum of 6-7 (dry) days before re-applying Men-Wood™; you may need to
wait even longer if you are in a rainy humid region.
Re-apply Men-Wood™ according to application guidelines on the containers
that you receive. NOTE: One coat of Men-Wood™ is required when
recoating.

guidelines.
